Gates and height
A solid six foot fence in the front yard is the mistake to avoid until the city says otherwise.

Three different rules
The residential guide describes a lower front yard limit, about three and one half feet, with a taller front fence only if the upper part is mostly open. Side and rear yards are taller, about six feet in that guide.
